The Portland Art & Learning Studio in The Oregonian's Arts & Entertainment edition

The Oregonian put a mention of our exhibit "TIME>SPACE>PLACE" in their Friday Arts & Entertainment edition. Below is a photograph of the write-up. Jason Triefenbach, our inaugural artist-in-residence, curated the exhibit for 1122 Gallery, which opens May 17th, 2019 from 6pm - 10pm and runs until June 17th by appointment.

We’re excited to announce the start of something new for Art & About!

You may already be familiar with our events calendar, but starting this month, we will be tweaking the formula for what we call “Critical Viewing” in which exhibitions, and art based events in Portland are highlighted by a local creator.

TIME>SPACE>PLACE at 1122 Gallery

Our inaugural artist-in-residence, Jason Triefenbach, has curated an exhibit named "TIME>SPACE>PLACE" at 1122 Gallery featuring various artists from the Portland Art & Learning Studio as well as artists from the Portland community. Jason collaborated with the artists of PALS during his residency on several sculptures that will be part of an installation at the gallery.

"TIME>SPACE>PLACE" opens on May 17th, 2019 from 6pm - 10pm at 1122 Gallery.

NW Noggin on May 28th

NW Noggin is bringing brains, brain slices, 3D printed brains, and an assortment of brain cells in pipe cleaners to the Portland Art & Learning Studio on May 28th, 2019. Come join us to learn from artists and talk about brains, and neurons – and draw them!!! 

The event is taking place from 10:30am - 12:30pm.

Collaborative sculpture with Jason Rens

Jason Rens collaborated with three artists from the Portland Art & Learning Studio on a sculpture named Jesus Beach, which is being unveiled at the MFA Applied Craft + Design Practicum Exhibition at PNCA. The exhibit is titled "I've Gone Out To Find Myself" and runs from May 10th - 24th, 2019 at the Bison Building (421 NE 10th Ave, Portland, OR 97232) in Portland, OR. 

The opening reception is Friday, May 10th, 2019 from 6 - 9pm.
