Collaborative sculpture with Jason Rens

Jason Rens collaborated with three artists from the Portland Art & Learning Studio on a sculpture named Jesus Beach, which is being unveiled at the MFA Applied Craft + Design Practicum Exhibition at PNCA. The exhibit is titled "I've Gone Out To Find Myself" and runs from May 10th - 24th, 2019 at the Bison Building (421 NE 10th Ave, Portland, OR 97232) in Portland, OR.

The opening reception is Friday, May 10th, 2019 from 6 - 9pm.

The exhibit features works by Ronna Fujisawa, Lilia Hernandez Galusha, Jason Rens (with the Portland Art & Learning Studio artists Aaron Hutchinson, Jamond Williams, and Job Erickson), Joe Robinson, Brittany Rudolf, & Molly Ryan.

"JESUS BEACH is a joyful sacred site offering blessings, joy and hope. The project celebrates the work of artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities from the Portland Art and Learning Studio (P.A.L.S.). It involves original poems by Aaron Hutchinson, dimensional paintings by Jamond Williams and digitally rendered textile banners by Job Erickson. The site is contained within a plywood constructed frame designed with interconnecting triangular geometry. The interior of the site is filled with beach sand, colored stones, partially submerged sculptures and vertically standing banners." - Jason Rens
